Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Expected to Feature 4K Output via Docking Station

Recent reports indicate that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will support 4K resolution output when connected to its docking station. This enhancement marks a significant improvement over the original Switch’s 1080p output, promising a more immersive gaming experience.

The Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch, 1080p LCD screen supporting HDR and up to 120fps refresh rate. When docked, it can deliver 4K gameplay at 60fps, providing enhanced visual clarity and smoother performance on compatible displays.

The docking station has been upgraded to accommodate these enhanced capabilities. It now includes a fan for improved cooling, ensuring optimal performance during extended gaming sessions. Additionally, the dock supports 4K resolution output, aligning with the console’s upgraded display capabilities.

Nintendo has also introduced new Joy-Con controllers that are larger and can function as a mouse for compatible games, connecting to the Switch 2 via magnets. These controllers, along with the console’s backward compatibility with original Switch games, aim to provide a versatile and user-friendly gaming experience.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5th, with a retail price of $449.99. A special bundle including “Mario Kart World” will be available for $499.99.
